In a conventional design, the Fourier lens is situated between the detector and the measuring cell which is penetrated by a wide, parallel laser beam.
Its disadvantage: Only a limited particle size range can be detected and if the measuring range needs to be changed, the lens needs to be exchanged and precisely adjusted. And the possibility to measure large scattering angles for especially small particles is greatly limited.
